Higgs Field Out beyond ideas of right and wrong There’s a field where you and I belong Out beyond ideas of land and sea There's a shoreline where you walk with me (in mystery) Oh my friend, I’ll meet you there Deep within the stone there is a fire Deep within the seed there is desire Far above ideas of young and old There’s a mountain where our stories are told Oh my friend, oh my friend, oh my friend I’ll meet you here, I’ll meet you there, I’ll meet you there (Bridge) Light and dark are dancing a miracle Everything large is made up of particles That slowed down long enough to embrace This time, this place Deep below ideas there’s my broken heart Searching for a place where I can start again Deep within my heart there is a song I’ve been wanting to sing for oh so long Oh my friend, oh my friend, oh my friend I’ll meet you here, I’ll meet you there, I’ll meet you there Oh my friend, oh my friend, oh my friend I’ll meet you here, in this time I’ll meet you there, in this place

Courage Vocabulary Blues I used to think That inner referred to a belly button, not mine of course I used to think That holding someone in the light meant, flip the switch and there you are I used to think That holding space meant standing, right in the street to keep my place But I now I've learned - the courage vocabulary blues I used to think the tragic gap Described my teeth at ten And that was truly tragic So we fixed it there and then. Oh mama, I got the courage vocabulary blues - and I know there’s no fixin’ Mama, I got the courage vocabulary blues I used to think the present was something that I'd get And now I know for certain that it never eve ever will be sent Oh mama, I got the mean old vocabulary blues And I’m turning to wonder Oh mama I got the Courage vocabulary blues I'm going deep but the curve is steep I'm diving in but there's lots and lots of din Oh mama I got the courage vocabulary blues Shy soul that I am Oh mama I got those mean old vocabulary blues I’ll speak my truth again, Oh mama, I got the courage vocabulary blues Oh yeah!

Darkness Cover Me Darkness Cover Me like a blanket of night Oh, cover me lightly Shadows gather around me Deepening darkness, Whispering softly Holy Maker of Moonlight Singing through starlight Keeper of all life Hidden Seed deep in the dark soil of the earth Fertile Ground, Womb of the Night, bring us new birth

Cracks What is broken in me is open in me... Where you see me split apart, you catch a glimpse of my true heart... my true heart. It’s song that opens the cracks. Each beat divides me front from back, yeah. I’m opened up by melody; I’m laid bare with harmony... with harmony... Unmusical days limp by. Instead of dancing they heave and they sigh. To stay intact is not to act on beauty... beauty... I want to live disintegrated, all full of holes, obliterated into shards, released at last into beauty like colored glass... colored glass... (instrumental) What’s broken in me that’s what’s open in me... Where you see me split apart, you catch a glimpse of my true heart... my true heart...

Bliss When shall I begin to comprehend and see through tears and through kisses … discover my bliss? My heart is filled with sadness, anger, joy and gladness; frustrating tensions and painful dimensions. Yet if I can embrace the happiness and sorrow, Living each moment to completion And not fearing each tomorrow I’ll find I’m whole … complete my soul. And life will teach me all I can be. When I fail, Love will prevail and will show me tender mercy; fill me then with grace again, So when shall I begin?

The Tragic Gap Blues Today I heard the news and it gave me the blues you know it does that ev’ry day I see cynics who quit and idealists who sit And only dream of what could be But in between is a dimension where you live within the tension It’s the place that’s known as the tragic gap. I’m standin’ I’m standin’ Standin’ in the tragic gap Yes I’m standin’ I’m standin’ Standin’ in the tragic gap There isn’t any magic That will take away the tragic gap. There’s a possibility that someday reality Will make an Eden of our land Meanwhile the poor keep waitin’ while Congress is debatin’ I just don’t understand It makes me angry I admit But I’m not gonna quit Instead I’ll take my stand in the tragic gap I’m standin’ I’m standin’ Standin’ in the tragic gap Yes I’m standin’ I’m standin’ Standin’ in the tragic gap There isn’t any magic That will take away the tragic gap. There are days when I could flee into dreams and fantasy Of a land of milk and honey Or when the powers that be could make a cynic out of me With their race for power and money. But though I hope to see the Belov’d Community I’ll live my life in the tragic gap. I’m standin’ I’m standin’ Standin’ in the tragic gap Yes I’m standin’ I’m standin’ Standin’ in the tragic gap There isn’t any magic That will take away the tragic gap. No there isn’t any magic That will take away the tragic gap. You don't have to be fanatic or overly-dramatic To live your life in the tragic gap.

Song For Caroline Oh, tread lightly. Oh, tread lightly! Each step may mete out life or death. Tread lightly on the earth. The forest floor alive! Decay gives rise to bloom. The canopy above will fall, In death return to womb. Tread lightly! Oh, hear deeply. Oh, hear deeply. The planet breathes in sigh and song. Hear deeply planet breath. The music of the leaves, The voice of frog and bird, The song all my relations chant Is wisdom with no word. Hear deeply! Oh, risk loving. Oh, risk loving. With tender trust connecting souls! Risk loving all your kin! A soul yearns to be known Unfettered from the mind. The atoms at the core of each Are common and divine. Risk loving. (Instrumental) Oh tread lightly. Oh, hear deeply. Courageous hearts break wide with space. Risk loving all our kin. Hear deeply planet breath! Tread lightly on the earth!

May You Walk The Beauty Way To Karen Wood, with love May you walk in beauty. May the sun rise to greet you. May your dreams direct your path, and the stars be your guide. May the road rise to meet you. May the waters be still. May your spirit be replenished. May you walk the beauty way, may you walk the beauty way. I do believe we can receive love, with a healing heart. I do believe we have a place in this world.

Jump Right In There’s something here beneath the surface Something pulling me in Something here that I’m not seeing I’m wondering where to begin Jump right in with both feet under Trust yourself with love Jump right in there’s a world of wonder In all that we can’t know It’s more than a moment more than a glance More than either of us know It’s all lined up before our eyes There’s nowhere else we can go Jump right in with both feet under Trust yourself with love Jump right in there’s a world of wonder In all that we can’t know When the door closes in your face You can pound your fist raw Or turn your back put it behind you Your whole world opens up Jump right in with both feet under Trust yourself with love Jump right in there’s a world of wonder In all that we can’t know

Yo Yo Simile Song Life is like a yo yo, first you're up then down, Oh I think that I will go and do what I've not done before. I'm tired of all the sufferin 'the Anacin, the Bufferin. I've had about enougherin’ and I can stand no more. The meaning of life is ludicrous, constantly eluding us. Everyone, including us, is baffled by the truth. So as I search for reason through season upon season I find nothin' quite as pleasin' as the follies of my youth. Life is like a yo yo, first you're up then down, Oh I think that I will go and do what I've not done before. I'm tired of all the sufferin 'the Anacin, the Bufferin. I've had about enougherin’ and I can stand no more. Some say that I'm to serious, that it's making me delerious, but the shallow make me furious and that's why I go deep. Your faith is like the ocean, you've got to show emotion. Forget the suntan lotion just go on and take the leap. Life is like a yo yo, first you're up then down, Oh I think that I will go and do what I've not done before. I'm tired of all the sufferin 'the Anacin, the Bufferin. I've had about enougherin’ and I can stand no more. So when you think you're down and out and you've got a lot to frown about, don't run around and curse and shout, you’ll only please you foes. Just find someone who’s able; Who’s competent and stable, And leap across the table And bite them on the nose! Life is like a yo yo, first you're up then down, Oh I think that I will go and do what I've not done before. I'm tired of all the sufferin 'the Anacin, the Bufferin. I've had about enougherin’ and I can stand no more.

Just To Be Thankful! a song of thanks for use in Circle of Trust retreats We are thankful to be fed, To have a warm place to lay our heads, And we are thankful to be loved: The earth below us, the sky above. Let us share with open hearts, No better place or time to start. Yes, we are thankful to be here, To be together without fear. (instrumental) We are thankful to be fed, To have a warm place to lay our heads, And we are thankful to be loved: The earth below us, the sky above. Let us share with open hearts, No better place or time to start. Yes, we are thankful to be here, To be together without fear. Just to be thankful... just to be thankful, Just to be thankful... just to be thankful, Just to be thankful... just to be thankful, Just to be thankful.
